Hwy 605 the new Gulfport, MS Gateway
Hwy 605, the Cowan-Lorraine Rd Extension is showing its potential for huge growth for the Gulfport, MS area. With the First Baptist Church of Gulfport starting the lead, others are soon to follow.
The First Baptist Church of Gulfport has really made some good bounds in their development in 2007 and everyday I see the project getting closer to completion, especially since I drive right by it every day on my way in to the office. With the development at Tradition and Florence Gardens only minutes away, and the new “Highlands” mixed-use development soon to be built just south and east of The First Baptist Church of Gulfport, the surrounding growth is inevitable.
The new north-south highway provides just what the area needs to poise for growth from the intersection of 605 and Interstate 10 up to the connector at Hwy 67 and Tradition. With plenty of land plots still available for sale, it is a prime area for developers to start focusing their attention as it is possible to get a great location for future development at pennies compared to what similar properties on Hwy 49 might cost. Undoubtedly, some property owners will hold off on selling until land starts demanding higher premiums in the area, but nonetheless, property is available and the area is definitely looking up for appreciation in the near future.
